Updates and new recommendations:

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends lipid screening for all children beginning at age 9. This can be done at your child's well child exam in our office. Hear more about it here Pediatric Cardiac Guidelines

Tetanus/pertussis(pertussis=whooping cough) booster for 11-year-olds. Also for PARENTS and CAREGIVERS of newborns.

Meningitis vaccine at age 11, and a BOOSTER at age 16 (or older if had only one dose).

Hepatitis A vaccine for older kids who never had it whose parents want them to be protected against hepatitis A.

HPV (human papilloma virus) vaccine series for girls and boys beginning at age 13. Now approved for boys as well.

OFFICE UPDATE as of 1/3/2012

Happy New Year to all!

It is not too late to get your flu vaccine. Please call to schedule your child's flu vaccine soon. We recommend it for all ages.

There are a few changes to the recommended vaccines, especially for teenagers. And lipid/cholesterol screening is recommended for all children. See the side bar to the right.

Practice Enhancements and Financial Policy changes:

We will scan your insurance card at the time of your visit and keep it on file. This is to ensure the most current information when submit a claim to your insurance company.

Please let us know of insurance changes. The most common reason for a claim being rejected is an ineligible policy or plan number. If you keep us updated you will avoid a $15.00 service charge for claims rejected due to an ineligible policy number or plan.

Co-pays are due at the time of service. We accept all major credit cards. Try our new Ipad payment option at the office.If you prefer to have the bill sent to you after the visit, we can do so for a fee of $15.00.

Welcome to Pediatrics at the Basin, a pediatric practice devoted to caring for babies, children and adolescents in the Rochester area.

Dr. Alice Loveys and Dr. Janet Cranshaw founded the practice in 2001. Dr Strang joined us in January of 2010. Read more about all of us! Our nurse practitioner, Paul Maxwell, has years of experience with patients of all ages.
